Varicella

• Highly contagious

• Usually self-limited, but occasionally causes severe complications

• No history of chickenpox:

• • Administer 2 doses 4-8 wks apart

• Hx of chickenpox is predictive of serologic immunity (97-99%)

• Contraindicated: pregnancy, HIV
